Publisher’s Note: Every year at this time we give our SNS members an early preview of the current agenda for FiRe, with some added detail about each new subject, why we’ve selected it, and who will be addressing it.
In general, the process of creating the FiRe agenda is one of actively linking our predictions on what will matter in technology and the economy with experts we feel are best qualified to expand on the particular aspects of these exciting changes for the same reasons we’re excited about them.
This year is no different, except that we’ve broadened the view beyond a specific theme. While such themes have lent a certain power to past FiRe events, this year we wanted the freedom to embrace the large number of truly transformational technologies that are coming online, all at once. Covering VTOL air taxis and anticipating the first cities on the moon are two examples of large changes just around the corner of time that have not yet been well explored.
We also provide this advance peek to our members so that those of you who may have been on the brink of deciding whether this will be a “FiRe Year” for you will indeed find good reason to join us for what I consider the most rewarding experience of the year. And while FiRe remains an invitation event, SNS members (and their friends) are automatically invited each year.
I hope you’ll enjoy seeing a bit behind the curtain as we ramp up for this year’s (16th!) FiRe, and that those of you not yet signed up will decide to join us. For those who are as excited about the agenda as we are, we’re delighted to offer our remaining seats at a special discount of $2,000 to SNS members. Just use the code FiReMember2018 upon registration at www.futureinreview.com.
It may be worth noting that this will be our last year at the magnificent Stein Eriksen Lodge Deer Valley in Park City, Utah, with its incredible autumn mountain setting, for those who find the alpine air and views conducive to lofty thoughts and great conversations. Next year, we will be at the beautiful Lodge at Torrey Pines resort in La Jolla, California.
Onward, then, to the ideas and discoveries that we think will embody exciting change in the near future. – mra.
