It Isn’t Just the Virus: Financial Impacts of R0
This week we are going to take a pattern-based look at the most important financial question of the moment (at least based on media coverage) – not Brexit, not the faux trial in the US Senate, not the equally fake China trade deal – but the matter of what economic impact the novel coronavirus may have on the global economy.
In addition to bringing some new perspectives on how to view this soon-to-be-pandemic event in the main text of this Global Report, we are also initiating a new section with weekly coverage, updates, and new original metrics on this question in each future issue of the GR, until the crisis passes.
When you’re done reading today’s issue, you should have a more original and more pragmatic view of the current status of this threat, what it means financially, and how to consider its progress using new metrics going forward.
